Washington University seeks a highly self-motivated applicant with a strong interest in identifying novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets for Parkinson's disease. Strong technical ability, with a background in statistics/mathematics/computer science. Experience with programming in a high-level language preferred (e.g., R, Perl, Python, Java, C, C++, etc.) and working in Linux/UNIX. Experience with high-performance compute clusters and/or cloud computing platforms. Ability to perform analytical reasoning to extract biological insights from data-driven approaches and assist in completing and interpreting uni- and multivariate statistical analysis.
Hands-on experience with large-scale human genomic or other omics datasets is expected. Excellent team communication skills and ability to collaborate with a team working on bioinformatics, statistical genomics, and genetics.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications: Master's degree in computer science, bioinformatics, biostatistics, or related field.
Preferred qualifications: Ph.D. in a data-science-related field (genetics, health informatics, computer science, data science, statistical genomics).
