A two-year postdoctoral position (with a possible extension of one year) is available from February 2021 at Inserm UMR1167 unit—Risk factors and molecular determinants of aging-related diseases, which is part of the Distalz Labex. The successful candidate will work in Team 3, led by Jean-Charles Lambert. This multidisciplinary team is a world leader in genetic epidemiology of Alzheimer's disease.
The objective of the postdoctoral project is to better characterize the genetic component of AD by studying the impact of structural variants on the disease risk. This project will be conducted on large datasets of AD cases and controls with whole-exome or whole-genome sequencing data (WES and WGS) and/or genome-wide genotyping data. The project will be conducted in collaboration with our partners from the international and European consortia EADB, ADES, IGAP and ADSP.

Requirements
- Ph.D. in biostatistics, epidemiology, genetic epidemiology. or related subjects.
- Programming skills in R as well as other languages such as Perl, Python, C/C++.
- Knowledge of the Unix/Linux environment is a plus.
- Experience on structural variant discovery/analysis and/or sequencing data analysis will be considered an advantage.
- English proficiency (written and spoken).
- An excellent track record of scholarly achievements, as demonstrated by awards and authorships, is expected. Candidates must be highly motivated and able to interact effectively with team members at various levels.
